JMM10 updated with Recent Publications

Announcements Posted on Mar 30, 2012 15:06:49

Dear JMM Forum user,

First, let us apologize for the lack of announcements on our behalf in the forum. We recently realized that we had actually promised our readers in the Editorial for JMM9 that we would post in the forum every time we made a change to the issue websites. Great idea, but unfortunately the authors of the Editorial (that is, we) did not assign this task to anyone, so consequently, and partially due to the general lack of activity in the forum, we forgot all about it.

We are very sorry about this, and hope/assume that you have been following the development of JMM9 and JMM10 without our assistance. From now on, we will update the forum every time we have a new item appearing in one of our issues.

Secondly, in direct continuation of the above, here is our first announcement on updates to a JMM issue website: We have just uploaded a list of recent publications in the field of research in music and meaning to the website for JMM10. This in fact brings us close to the completion of the issue, and we only have a few more things to do with our vol. 10, before we open up the website for JMM11, the 11th issue of The Journal of Music and Meaning.

Looking forward to bringing you more news in the future,

Best regards on behalf of the Editorial Staff,

Søren R. Frimodt-Møller, Managing Editor of JMM

Forum Rules

Forum Rules Posted on Dec 17, 2010 22:43:34

The JMM Discussion Forum should primarily contain material relevant for readers of the journal, that is, viewpoints that fall within the scope of JMM, comments on specific articles, reviews of literature within the field of contemporary music research (whether traditional or cross-disciplinary) and announcements of such publications as well as calls for papers for conferences within the field etc.

Do not post any material that you do not have the rights to distribute.

Although this should hopefully not be necessary to write, please ensure a good tone in the debates on the forum pages. Posting abusive comments with no real arguments attached will lead to exclusion from the forum. If you think we have overlooked such behavior, please alert us at forum@musicandmeaning.net. Make sure to state the URL of the relevant post – this can be found at the very bottom of the entry (it will typically have the format of http://forum.musicandmeaning.net/#postx).

Any entries that the Editorial Staff finds irrelevant for the general reader of JMM, will be removed, but the author will still be allowed to contribute to the forum. Only abusive behavior will result in exclusion from the forum.

If you think we need more rules for the forum or more categories or have other constructive comments, don’t hesitate to write us.

Important note: username and password for forum.musicandmeaning.net will not grant you access for other subdomains such as jmm.musicandmeaning.net, jmm9.musicandmeaning.net etc. The login option on these pages is for Editorial Staff only.

If you want to post a comment on an article, post it under the commentary category in the forum, and we will make sure to make a quick link to your comment right under the blog entry regarding the article in question.
