The JMM Discussion Forum should primarily contain material relevant for readers of the journal, that is, viewpoints that fall within the scope of JMM, comments on specific articles, reviews of literature within the field of contemporary music research (whether traditional or cross-disciplinary) and announcements of such publications as well as calls for papers for conferences within the field etc.

Do not post any material that you do not have the rights to distribute.

Although this should hopefully not be necessary to write, please ensure a good tone in the debates on the forum pages. Posting abusive comments with no real arguments attached will lead to exclusion from the forum. If you think we have overlooked such behavior, please alert us at forum@musicandmeaning.net. Make sure to state the URL of the relevant post – this can be found at the very bottom of the entry (it will typically have the format of http://forum.musicandmeaning.net/#postx).

Any entries that the Editorial Staff finds irrelevant for the general reader of JMM, will be removed, but the author will still be allowed to contribute to the forum. Only abusive behavior will result in exclusion from the forum.

If you think we need more rules for the forum or more categories or have other constructive comments, don’t hesitate to write us.

Important note: username and password for forum.musicandmeaning.net will not grant you access for other subdomains such as jmm.musicandmeaning.net, jmm9.musicandmeaning.net etc. The login option on these pages is for Editorial Staff only.

If you want to post a comment on an article, post it under the commentary category in the forum, and we will make sure to make a quick link to your comment right under the blog entry regarding the article in question.
